Nature of this tool
CanIFlyHere.us is an informational planning resource for drone operators. It queries publicly available FAA geospatial data and presents that information in a simplified format to assist with pre-flight planning. It is not an FAA-approved product, not an official airspace authorization system, and does not replace any regulatory requirement.
No authorization granted
A result of "no restrictions found" from this tool does not constitute flight authorization from the FAA or any other authority. Airspace authorization under FAA rules (including 14 CFR Part 107 and recreational flying rules under 49 U.S.C. § 44809) must be obtained through official FAA channels such as LAANC, DroneZone, or direct coordination with air traffic control. Pilots are solely responsible for obtaining all required authorizations before flight.
Data limitations
This tool queries six FAA data layers but does not represent the complete picture of airspace restrictions that may apply to any given location. Restrictions not covered include:
- Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) issued for emergencies, VIP movements, wildfires, stadium events, or other purposes
- Special Use Airspace not covered by the queried layers (some MOAs, restricted areas, warning areas)
- Local, city, county, or state ordinances restricting drone flight
- Private property restrictions or trespass laws
- Facility-specific rules at airports, national parks, or other managed sites
Data displayed is pulled live from FAA servers and may be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable. Layer updates made by the FAA may not be reflected immediately.
Limitation of liability
CanIFlyHere.us and its operators provide this tool on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Under no circumstances shall the operators be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of or reliance on the information provided, including but not limited to fines, enforcement actions, property damage, or personal injury resulting from flight decisions made using this tool.
Acceptable use
This tool is provided free of charge for personal and professional pre-flight planning. You may not scrape, reproduce, or redistribute the FAA data returned by this tool in bulk. FAA data is subject to its own terms of use as published by the FAA.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
